Workshop - Saturday 12th July, 2008 - 10am to 5pm
“Crisis and Crisis Intervention”
Facilitated by Jill Reynolds & Marian Millward
This workshop offers an opportunity for participants to be introduced, or reintroduced to the subject of crisis work through discussion and the creative medium. Nira Kfir’s Impasse Theory will be introduced and mapped onto Adlerian concepts. Through individual and group work we will consider what constitutes a crisis, and why a crisis for one person may not be experienced as such by another. We will look at the characteristics and predispositions of crisis; the elements of crisis, and Kfir’s priorities as they relate to crisis. We will also discuss the specific type of input a person in crisis needs, and how crisis can also be a time of opportunity.
